Theta Zeta Upsilon is an amazing group of women - and student leaders! The 2008 Pledge Process will be beginning in the third week of September, and we hope that you will consider pledging.
Before pledging there are important questions to ask you self:
What are you looking for at Concordia?
Are you up for the time commitment?
Can you afford the economic cost?
Will being in a sorority eat all your time?
Is Theta right for you?
What are you looking for at Concordia?
Theta is your family away from home. Many sisters come from far away and do not have the chance to go home every weekend, so Theta is their at-school family. Theta is also a place where you can express yourself. Your sisters will always listen to what you have to say, no matter how minuscule. Theta is a chance for sisters to grow. Each sister can propose and idea, such as an event or a way for us to develop as a group, and we will do our best to work it out.
Are you up for the time commitment?
Theta has one sister meeting a week, plus other events
Pledge events are 2-3 times a week
Additionally, Theta hosts at least one large campus wide event each month
All events and meetings are mandatory; if you need to be excused for something, you must talk to an executive board member
Theta also has biweekly non-mandatory event for sisters to hang out and get together
Can you afford the economic cost?
Becoming a Theta does cost money. Each semester, members must pay a due of $40. During the pledging semester, pledges must pay an additional $35 pledge fee. All this money goes towards exciting things - Theta apparel, sister-only events, all the supplies needed for pledging, the retreat, and much more! The treasurer of Theta is always happy to work things out with sisters who have hard time paying on time. The cost is well worth the rewards.
Will being in a sorority eat all your time?
Theta Sisters are very active around Concordia's campus. Involvement includes:

The Fellows Program (Concordia's Honors Program)
Poetic Justice League

As you can see, Thetas are very different and dynamic.
Is Theta right for you?
Only you can answer that question. Get to know a few sisters. Ask questions. Make suggestions. Come to information meetings.
The history and events of Theta are very important. Each idea has a meaning behind it that only sisters are meant to know.
